From a surround sound experience where you are enveloped by sound, to a more direct and interactive acoustic experience where you face the sound directly.
“The work ‘mono wide’ is an art piece that creates a soundscape in which humans can experience a natural sense of comfort.”
An art piece with sound
“Discoveries as Audio Equipment, Ideals as Art”
Mono – wide is not an audio device, but rather an artwork to enjoy sound, standing alongside sculptures and paintings. The highest quality audio systems have advanced towards providing a “realistic acoustic experience as if being in an orchestra,” and audio equipment has evolved in pursuit of a richer acoustic experience. Nowadays, methods such as surround systems, which create an acoustic space with multiple speakers, have become mainstream. We have discovered a new approach for a rich experience (separate from that trend). It is an approach that imparts “fluctuation” to sound through a unique structure, bringing out the “mass” (Masse) of sound. This method, which prioritizes humanity scale (human sensitivity) over sound reproducibility, overturns existing concepts. This discovery has made us re-recognize the importance of “humanity scale.” A piece of art that provides a rich viewing experience, akin to sculptures and paintings, has been completed.
